Birds are an example of recycling in nature as they often use recycled materials to build their nests. Students will be challenged to build a bird nest using only natural materials found (provided), and nests made from artificial/manmade materials. Students may not use glue or tape. Completed nests will be tested for strength and durability by adding “eggs” and inducing inclement weather. Students will observe, compare, contrast and discuss the strength and weaknesses of their designs.
The program for youth ages 5 to 11. Class will be taught by Liz Renaud from Fauquier County Environmental Sericites.
This program will be rescheduled for inclement weather.
