Planting Virginia natives restores habitat for wildlife and supports our local food web. Native gardening requires less maintenance and provides a serene landscape to watch birds, butterflies and other insects right in your backyard. In this talk, Dawn Filipowicz and Jen Krebs, Master Gardeners and Co-Coordinators for the Fauquier & Rappahannock County Audubon at Home program, will discuss sanctuary animal species that need protecting and provide information on supporting wildlife using keystone plants. Finally, you’ll learn how to request a free Audubon at Home site visit for advice on creating wildlife habitat specific to your property. Handouts will be provided, setting you up with plenty of inspiration and know-how for your wildlife garden! Native plant door prizes will be given to 10 lucky participants! Held at Schoolhouse # 18 in Marshall, Va. Registration requested.
